I have been training, working and competing with Spaniels for fourteen years. I am NOT a professional, it is my hobby and I am passionate about it. My dogs have to be competent in the line, picking-up, being shot over, and if they are good enough, in tests and trials too. They must be sociable well behaved members of the family as well, especially as my small kennel is overlooked by close neighbours on three sides!

We have working test and field trial awards, and we represented Cornwall for two years in the Cornwall Field Trial Society Working Test Team. We have worked on private estates, large commercial ventures, and small syndicates, in Cornwall, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Worcestershire.

I do not turn over a lot of dogs, my priority is to train all my dogs to the best of their ability and mine. I have said, ever since my first disastrous efforts with a rogue Spaniel, that there is not much better than a good dog, but there is certainly nothing worse than a bad one. For all round ability the English Springer Spaniel is unbeatable, though I recognise it can be a case of horses for courses and in certain situations the specialists hold their own.
